Mango Scion Orders for September 19, 2022 Ship Date

The next round of orders will ship out on Monday, September 19, 2022 via USPS Flat Rate. The deadline for ordering is Sunday, September 4, 2022 at Midnight.

We are offering a select number of varieties of mango varieties for this date. There are limited quantities of each variety and it is on a first come, first serve basis.

The prices of the mango scions are noted next to each name. Shipping and handling is $12 per order.

If you would like Express Overnight Shipping, we can offer that for $28. Please indicate your preference for that in your email.

The Mango Varieties we are offering scions of for this ship date are:

  • Carla ($8)

    • Originally known as C-12 in Gary Zill’s experimental grove, ‘Carla’ is as seedling of ‘Zill-80’. It has a classic Indian mango flavor: rich, sweet and fiberless. It has a later season.

  • Carrie ($6)

    • Related to ‘Julie’, this golden green mango is soft and tender with melting, juicy flesh. It has a complex, spicy, rich, sweet taste with no fiber.

  • Duncan ($7)

    • Of unknown parentage, ‘Duncan’ first fruited in 1960 in West Palm Beach. A yellow mango with soft, tender, and juicy orange flesh that is mild and sweet with no fiber. The tree is very productive.

  • Edgar ($7)

    • One of Gary Zill’s new mango introductions, ‘Edgar’ is a medium sized oval mango with rich, sweet and fiberless firm flesh. Its parentage is unknown and it is productive.

  • Florigon ($6)

    • Believed to be a seedling of ‘Saigon’, ‘Florigon’ originated in Ft. Lauderdale and first fruited in 1938. Its name is combination of Florida and Saigon. It has medium soft, melting and juicy flesh with an excellent mild and sweet flavor and little fiber. The tree is very productive.

  • Gary ($7)

    • A seedling of ‘Pettigrew’ that was selected and named by Gary Zill, this petite mango has a distinctive, delicious and popular flavor with a hint of coconut.

  • Orange Essence ($8)

    • A ‘Kent’ Seedling that Gary Zill planted, ‘Orange Essence’ is a great late season variety that has a orange flavor and sweet, rich and fiberless.

  • Sugarloaf ($9)

    • Originally known as E-4, ‘Sugarloaf’ is one of Gary Zill’s new varieties. It is named after a variety of pineapple, which alludes its pineapple flavors, especially when it is underripe. It also has strong coconut flavors. Its flesh is fiberless, sweet and rich.

  • Valencia Pride ($6)

    • A seedling of ‘Haden’ that originated in Miami in 1937. It is a large fruit with firm, melting and juicy flesh that is mild and sweet. There is little fiber. The tree is very vigorous.

  • Venus ($7)

    • ‘Venus’ is one of Gary Zill’s new mango’s that is a seedling of ‘Zill Indochinese’. It is a great late-season mango that is round with yellow skin that can develop distinctive mottling as it ripens: these characteristics inspired Walter Zill to name the mango after the planet Venus. ‘Venus’ mangos have fiberless, melting flesh that has a sweet complex flavor.

  • Zill ($6)

    • Named after the Zill family, it is a seedling of ‘Haden’ (‘Bombay’ is possibly one of its parents) from Lake Worth with soft and juicy flesh and no fiber. It has a mild sweet flavor with a hint of orange.

  • Let us know which varieties you’re interested in and how many scions of each variety you would like (from the list below); your name and shipping address; and what form of payment you would like to use (PayPal invoice or credit card invoice). Please note that we will be adding a 3% processing fee to your order.

  • If you are local, please indicate that you would like to pick your order up from the farm instead of having it shipped. You will need to pick your scions up from the farm between Monday, September 19, 2022 and Saturday, September 24, 2022 (Sooner is better for scions!)

  • As a reminder, we can only ship within the continental US. (We do NOT ship to CA or AZ.)
